Tak bat Devo is an annual ceremony of Uthai Thani Province, held on Ok-Phansa Day (the first waning moon of the eleventh lunar month.) Derived from the traditional belief, back to the period of Lord Buddha, he was once
in heaven for preaching his mother and the holy spirits for three month of the Buddhist lent, until the Ok-Phansa, the final day of lent, he returned to the Earth again. Ok-Phansa, on the other hand, marks the day that Lord Buddha’s returning.
In this connection, as you are aware that the location of Wat Sangkat Rattanakhiri is on a hill where the numerous steps lay down. The wonderful scene that tourists always think of about the temple is the hundred monks walk down to receive the offerings on Ok-Phansa day which refer to the Lord Buddha come to the Earth after preaching in heaven.
