New Hampshire is located in the Northeast United States and is bordered by Maine (on the east), Vermont (west), Massachusetts (south), and Canada (north); the Atlantic Ocean touches the southeast corner.

At 9,283 square miles, New Hampshire is the 44th largest state. The highest elevation is Mt. Washington in Coos County at 6,288 feet while the lowest elevation is the Atlantic Ocean at sea level.
