The Land
Beehive State, Mormon State, Land of the Saints, Salt Lake State, Utah was named either for the Ute tribe, whose name means 'people of the mountains' or the the Navajo, who the White Mountain Apache referred to as 'Yuttahih'.
Utah is located in the Rocky Mountain, Great Basin region (Southwest) and is bordered by Idaho & Wyoming (north), Colorado (east), Arizona (south), Nevada (west).
At 84,904 square miles, Utah is the 12th largest state. The highest elevation is Kings Peak at 13,528 feet while the lowest elevation is the Beaver Dam Wash at 2,000 feet.
