This sightseeing tour will focus on the core of Delhi. Delhi is the heart and threshold of India. Delhi is also a state having 9 districts and the capital of India is New Delhi which is one of districts of Delhi. Delhi nowadays an urban state having a population of 16 million, the second largest city of India after Mumbai.

Delhi has a remarkable historical past, with seven old cities. But for tourists, it is divided in two parts: old delhi and new delhi. At present, old Delhi is the seventh and last old city of Delhi, known as Shahjahanabad. It was founded by fifth Mughal emperor Shahjahan in 1638.

In Delhi there are three world heritage monuments known as Qutub Minar, Humayun's Tomb and Red fort (Lala Qila). Besides these, there is the New Delhi area that has all government buildings like the President's House, Parliament House, India Gate, museums and memorials.

We start our tour from Red Fort as it was the stronghold of the Mughals. The fifth Mughal emperor Shahjahan shifted his capital from Agra to Delhi in 1638 and built a fort as a residence for the royal family and the army. It has a beautiful entrance and a wall with moat around the sides. There are some remarkable buildings inside.

Then we will go to the Jama Masjid through the bazars of old Delhi so that you can experience these bazars too. This masjid or mosque is the largest mosque of India with a capacity of 25000 people at a time. Later we pass by Gandhi's memorial where he was cremated. Our next stop is Humayun's tomb which is the second largest tomb in India after Taj Mahal. It was the precursor to the Taj Mahal.

Then we will take a round of some government buildings and visit India Gate to click some great photographs. It is highly recommended that you bring a camera along. At the end we will visit the Qutub Minar. It is the tallest brick tower in the world dating back to the 12th century built by the first Muslim dynasty of India.
